Cassius proclaims â€Å"Till then, think of the world† (Shakespeare 1110). He believes this because Cassius persuades him to accept his beliefs by mentioning the people of Rome. Brutus says â€Å"For let the gods so speed me as I love the name honor more than I fear death† (Shakespeare 1103). Brutus is an honorable man because he does everything with interest on his country. In addition, Brutus also does what he feels is right which also helps him with achieving his honor. Brutus lets his philosophies lead his decisions and actions. Furthermore, Brutus allows Antony to speak at Caesar’s funeral and deciding to risk everything in one battle which risks the entire purpose of the conflict because Antony may not be trustable. Although Brutus has many admirable traits, he also has some unfavorable traits. Brutus is easily swayed by powerful men, betraying his comrade, and giving up on himself. For that which is not in me? † (Shakespeare 1103) Cassius tells Brutus that Caesar is a threat to the people of Rome which leaves Brutus unhappy. Brutus is unhappy because he believes in Cassius’ persuasion. Brutus’ main flaw is how he is easily swayed between sides which shows that he is easy to control. Brutus says â€Å"Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more† (Shakespeare 1145). In addition, Brutus betrays his close friend, Caesar and joins the conspiracy. Brutus joins the conspiracy because he chooses his beloved Rome over Caesar. Romans value loyalty as one of the grandest Roman virtues. Furthermore, Brutus is unconfident about his war against Antony, Octavius, and Lepidus. Brutus is unconfident because Cassius is gone and he is left alone so he decides to commit suicide. Brutus says â€Å"Hold then my sword, and turn away thy face while I do run upon it† (Shakespeare 1181). Due to the situation, Brutus’ situation causes a terrible outcome. Brutus’ life results in his own death. Brutus has a difficult decision to make to kill Caesar which creates an internal conflict. Brutus is convinced to kill Caesar because he feels that Caesar will not make a great leader. As a result, he decides to kill Brutus alongside Cassius and the conspirators. Since, Brutus decides to kill Caesar, it becomes the â€Å"right† thing to do because Brutus is an honorable man and people believe in whatever he does. Brutus says â€Å"Caesar, now be still. I killed not thee with half so good a will† (Shakespeare 1181) in his last breath. Brutus commits suicide as a form of revenge for Caesar. Finally, Brutus succeeds in killing Caesar as well as himself. His death is a good thing because he ends all of the chaos between Antony and him. Brutus is a man who follows his beliefs which then leads him into a mess. Strato says â€Å"I held the sword, and he did run on it† (Shakespeare 1182). Brutus successfully commits suicide as an honorable man. Antony says â€Å"This was the noblest Roman of them all† (Shakespeare 1182). His death ends the war between the two sides. In conclusion, people achieve their important beliefs. With exceptional qualities, Brutus portrays as a respectable man. In contrast, he shows inadequate traits such as disloyality. In the end, Brutuss life results in death. Sometimes, peoples lives do not resolute in their favor, because they must overcome certain obstacles. People often betray one another through selfish reasons. The desire for power can lead to ones demise. Riches in wealth and ruling will result to an evil tragedy.

Phase Transformations Microstructural Control Phase transformations microstructural control 2xxx-series Aluminum Alloys Introduction: 2000 Series Aluminum Alloys: Principal alloying element is copper with minor additions of manganese and magnesium. This series of aluminum is the original heat treatable alloy group developed in the 1920s. The best known, most widely used heat treatable alloy for aircraft and aerospace is 2024. Can be spot and friction welded but not fusion welded (a few exceptions being tank structures in the Titan Missile). Has good formability in the annealed temper condition and some formability in the solution treated and aged condition, but needs intelligent application in complex designs. Has excellent fatigue properties when compared to other aluminum alloys, excellent strength to weight ratio. Good machinability. Poor resistance to corrosion without alclad layer or secondary chem film, anodize and/or prime and paint. Can be chem film and anodized readily. Other 2000 series alloys include 2017 seen widely in aluminum rivets, fasteners and screw machine parts and 2014 which is used heavily in forgings. These three alloys, 2024, 2014, and 2017 can be considered the foundations of aluminum aircraft, missiles and space vehicles during these past 75 years. Heat Treating Aluminum Alloys: (1) Example 2024: Aluminum alloys are not allotropic they do not undergo a phase or structure change like steels when heating. But if the right alloying additions are present they can be heat treated by solution heat treating and precipitation hardening. In the early days (1930s) solution heat treatment was referred to as ST, and many times precipitation hardening was referred to as aging. Solution heat treatment involves temperatures very close to the melting point of the aluminum alloy, usually 200 300 deg. below the melting point. The purpose is to provide enough thermal energy to dissolve, in a solid solution, the alloy elements present. In the case of 2024, the major alloy element is copper, and by taking the part to 920 deg. F, the copper present within the 2024 will dissolve or disperse uniformly throughout the solid aluminum part. This can be difficult to comprehend how can something dissolve and still be solid? As Einstein once said, everything is relative Without getting into the solid state physics of the metallurgical reactions, dissolution does occur but only at this high temperature. However, if you slowly cool down the part, the copper wants to come back out of solution. Here is where the important step of quenching takes place. Quenching is a very rapid cool down, using water, on the order of 500 600 deg. per second. Quenching locks in place all alloy elements that have been dissolved at the high solution heat treat temperature. Before the alloy additions can think about changing places and moving back out of solution wham! they are locked in place by the rapid quench cool down. The result is called a super saturated solid solution an unstable condition. Quenching is critical to proper solution heat treatment. Aging Precipitation Hardening can now happen under the right conditions. In the case of natural aging of 2024, or aging at room temperature, the dissolved copper slowly comes back out of solution over an extended time (96 hours minimum), forming CuAl precipitants. Precipitants or precipitated particles can be thought of as army commandos, coming from nowhere out of the sky to stand guard, strengthening the territory. Indeed the word precipitant comes from the weather term precipitation meaning to separate and fall from solution (clouds). Precipitated particles in heat treatable aluminum alloys strengthen the alloy by pinning or locking up numerous microstructural features in the aluminum. Other heat treatable alloys like 6061 and 7075 undergo very similar precipitation reactions, with the actual precipitated particles differing depending on whether zinc, magnesium, manganese, silicon or copper additions are present. The way that metallurgists control the formation of these precipitants will determine the mechanical and corrosion properties later. In the case of artificial aging or precipitation hardening, the previously solution heat treated and quenched parts are subjected to elevated temperatures (instead of room temperature) in the range of 225-375 deg. F over extended periods of time (4-24 hours). The precipitants formed and grown here are more controlled and substantial in nature, resulting in higher mechanical properties as compared to naturally aged conditions. Abstract: Recently, Aluminum and Aluminum alloys are broadly used in several fields of industries due to their properties such as, light weight (low density), good formability, good malleability, high electrical conductivity, high thermal conductivity and high corrosion resistance. In general, pure aluminum and its alloys still have many problems during using in the engineering applications; for example: unstable mechanical properties and relatively low strength . Therefore; adding alloying elements, and heat treatment are done to modify the microstructure and improve the mechanical properties of aluminum. The alloying elements could be classified as major and minor elements, microstructure modifiers or impurities, where the minor elements in some alloys may be major elements in other alloys. This report investigates the influences of copper as alloying element on aluminum alloys and then the microstructures mechanical properties relations in this regards. Introduction: Aluminum copper alloys are gaining huge industrial usage because of their outstanding combination of mechanical, physical properties. These properties involve high specific strength specially high temperature strength, high hardness. These properties obtained through addition of copper and other alloy elements and heat treatment ability of this series. Alloying elements are chosen according to their effects and suitability (1) Aluminium-Copper Alloys: Due to the wrought aluminum alloys designation system, aluminium copper alloys are designated 2xxx series. the major alloying element in this series is copper (Cu). 2xxx series could include manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), Silicon (Si), titanium (Ti), and nickel (Ni) as minor alloying elements. Multilinguals sometimes use elements of multiple languages in conversing with each other.Thus, code-switching is the use of more than one linguistic variety in a manner consistent with the syntax and phonology of each variety. According to Weinreich (1953), in the 1940s and 1950s, many scholars considered code-switching to be a sub-standard use of language. Since the 1980s, however, most scholars have recognised it is a normal, natural product of bilingual and multilingual language use. With this recognition in mind, Muysken (2005), states that switchi ng is not an isolated phenomenon but rather a central part of bilingual discourse.With regards to this view, this essay will examine the value of code switching among bilinguals in transaction. There are a number of different reasons why people code switch and thus code switching holds value for bilinguals. Firstly, during a transaction, code switching is of value because it can be used by bilinguals to show identity with a group. For example, (Di Pietro,1977) reports that Italian immigrants would tell a joke in English and give the punch line in Italian, not only because it is better said in Italian but also to stress the fact that they all belong to the same minority group, with shared values and experiences.Very often, people code switch both consciously and unconsciously to act or talk more like those around them. Code switching therefore allows the establishment of rapport among bilinguals involved in a transaction. With this rapport established it becomes easy for bilinguals t o participate in a transaction easily. Secondly, during a transaction, code switching is of great semantic significance. Gumperz (1982), stresses that switching at a particular moment conveys semantically significant information. It is a communicative resource that builds on participant’s perception of two languages.Lexical choice conveys meaning during code switching. Gal (1979) reinforced this view by stating that listeners interpret codes witching as an indicator of the speaker’s attitude, or communicative intents and emotions as code switching is a tool for conveying appropriate linguistic and social information. By the same token, David (2003) describes a range of speech acts like reprimands, directives, requests, and warnings that are conveyed by using different intricate strategies to show the semantic significance in certain specific situations.Another reason why code switching is of great value to bilinguals is that, it can be used when there is the need of ma king a point, that is, to emphasize or highlight the significance of a given word or topic in the speech event. These reasons may bear pedagogic significance because in many cases it is the use of emphasis or the intent of assigning importance to a word or a topic that directly correlates with the extent of a respondent’s knowledge about a given topic and his or her choice of language.For example Gal (1979) reports several instances in which code switching at the end of an argument not only helps to end the interaction but may also serve to emphasize a point. She has taken an example from English-German code switching and stressed that switching from English to German is a means of adding more force to the final statement.
